2 Boston police officers shot dead; Sources say suspect dead after hours-long standoff – Boston 25 News


BOSTON – Several sources told Boston 25 News that two Boston police officers were shot on Tuesday. BPD later confirmed that the two officers who were shot suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Three law enforcement sources confirmed to Boston 25 News that the suspect was dead after hours of standoff.

Boston Police told us they were called to the Ferndale scene in Dorchester on Tuesday morning.

Boston 25 News crews at the scene saw a large police presence and several sections of the road were closed.

Acting Boston Mayor Kim Janey and Mayor-elect Michelle Wu are at Boston Medical Center to meet with injured police officers.

The office of elected mayor Michelle Wu released the following statement regarding the shooting:

“I have been made aware of the tragic incident taking place in Dorchester and will be following this development closely. My prayers tonight go out to the injured police officers, their loved ones and those in our community who have had to deal with it. repeatedly to violence and trauma in our neighborhoods over the past week. ”

Editor’s Note: Information from the Boston 25 source originally indicated that a third officer was skinned in the shooting. Boston Police tell us that only two officers were injured in the shooting.
