Below the Stone developers on the discovery of your passion project

We spoke with the team behind Below the Stone to find out how they made an idea come true.

Anyone who has ever tried to make a game knows that it is incredibly difficult. There are a lot of moving parts, and it can be a daunting task to take a concept and make it a playable game. The developers at Strollarts can talk about it perfectly, and that’s exactly what they did in a recent interview with us.

Shacknews chief video officer Greg Burke sat down with Michael Carroll (president of Strollart) and Scott Miller (founder of Apogee and 3D Realms), to learn more about the development of Below the Stone. During the interview, Carroll spoke about the company’s initial Kickstarter and how important it was to their project, even though it didn’t hit its mark.

“Sure you can think of it as ‘oh man we didn’t get the right funding’ but actually that was a huge win for us,” Carroll said. “We’ve gone from no one-to-one exposure, to 200 new fans joining our Discord, to Scott Miller and lots of other publishers contacting us,” he continued. Carroll encourages creatives to use Kickstarter not only to raise funds, but also as a powerful marketing and networking tool.

The full interview with Michael Carroll and Scott Miller is available on the website GamerHubTV YouTube Channel. Do not forget to register there, as well as at Shacknews YouTube Channel for more exclusive interviews with the developers.
