With the previous Call of Duty games, players can customize all weapons, change the muzzle and stock of the weapon, or add perks to tailor loadouts to their playstyle. Gunsmith 2.0 improves on this somewhat by introducing a new receiver slot option in the menu. This allows mods within the same weapon “family” to be moved to a new weapon once a player unlocks the corresponding upgrade. Unlike last year Call of Duty: Vanguardwhich has seen a lot of tantalizing weapon mods compared to previous years, players won’t have to face a long slog to unlock specific mods once a new gun has been unlocked.

MW 2Gunsmith 2.0’s new streamlined process will no doubt be a welcome change for a long time to come. COD fans as it means less time will be spent tinkering with weapons, freeing up more time in the various multiplayer modes that are expected to appear in modern warfare 2. Besides the practical improvements, Infinity Ward has also confirmed that all mods and attachments for each weapon family are designed to look the part, so regardless of which extensions are used, the gun will not look out of place on the battlefield. .

Activision is set to reveal more information about modern warfare 2 during their next Call of Duty event, which is set to take place on Thursday, September 15 at 10:00 AM PT, where the publisher is expected to show an in-depth look at single and multiplayer campaign gameplay as well as the shares the first look at the new Call of Duty: Warzone 2 battle royale title.

A few days after the presentation, a series of modern warfare 2 Beta testing will roll out with the first public test beginning September 18-20 for PlayStation players, before moving to PC and Xbox players the following weekend.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will launch on October 28 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
