9:34 am: Of the 11,451 new cases, 13,204 recoveries and 266 deaths in the past 24 hours, Kerala has reported 7,124 cases, 7,488 recoveries and 21 deaths, according to the Union Health Ministry.

9:30 am: Justin: India is reporting 11,451 new cases of COVID-19, 13,204 recoveries and 266 deaths in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 1,42826 – the lowest in 262 days. The recovery rate is currently 98.24% – the highest since March 2020. Active cases represent 0.42% of total cases – the lowest since March 2020, according to the Union Health Ministry.

9:15 am: Prime Minister Modi presents his birthday greetings to veteran BJP leader LK Advani on his birthday. “Nation remains indebted to him for his many efforts to empower people and strengthen our cultural pride. He is also widely respected for his research and intellectual wealth,” he tweeted.

8:54 am: The overall air quality in Noida continues to remain “severe” with an AQI of 575, according to SAFAR.

8:20 a.m .: Just In: An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale struck 56 km ESE of Ukhrul, Manipur today at 7:48 a.m., according to the National Seismology Center.

8:05 am: BREAKAGE: Four CRPF jawans killed and 3 injured in a case of fratricide in a CRPF camp within the limits of the Maraiguda de Sukma police station in Chhattisgarh. A jawan had opened fire on the camp, reports ANI.

7:37 am: The overall air quality in Delhi continues to remain in the “severe” category for the third day in a row with an AQI of 432, according to SAFAR.

7:25 am: Schools in the Pondicherry and Karaikal regions will remain closed on November 8 and 9 for students in grades 9 to 12 due to bad weather and incessant rains, announces the government of Pondicherry.

7:15 am: A magnitude 4.3 earthquake occurred 218 km southeast of Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands at 5:28 a.m. today, according to the National Seismological Center.
