The idea is to give tourists peace of mind this summer by displaying phone number and social media contacts, with a message that the police are there to help.
The Costa del Sol expects a large number of foreign tourists this summer, coming here to enjoy the good weather and the beaches. With this in mind, the National Police have launched an awareness campaign so that visitors know how to contact them in case of need, by advertising their services on one of the buses on the route between Malaga and towns further along the coast. .
The initiative is in collaboration with the companies Global and Avanza, since it is one of their buses that will display the telephone number and social media contact of the National Police. There will also be a very clear message for all tourists, wherever they come from: “We protect you; report things to us, we are your police”.
The campaign was officially presented on Friday morning April 8 and the government delegate in Malaga, Francisco Javier Salas, said that it was a very important project to guarantee peace of mind for people who visit Malaga, because the Costa del Sol is “one of the safest destinations in the world”, he stressed, partly thanks to the work carried out around the clock by the state security forces.
Avanza South Division Director Rafael Durbán expressed his thanks to the police for the work they are doing and said he was proud to collaborate in a campaign to educate foreign visitors about the services provided by the national police. “They are essential because they maintain safety, and for the transport sector this is as important as meeting safety standards,” he said.
