NYF video explores New York-based executive jurors’ international experience as foreign nationals in New York: Meta’s creative shop shares ‘A shop in the woods for the technical panel’

This new episode takes the pulse of international creatives working in New York in advertising as foreign nationals. The passionate and honest talks feature these world-class creatives exploring together the pros and cons of working as an immigrant in New York’s highly competitive advertising industry.
Panel members include host and 2022 Executive Jury Chair Fede Garcia, BCW Global CCO; Bianca Falusi, CCO, mother; Rafael Rizuto, CCO, BBH; Hemant Anant Jain, ECD, Argonaut; and Bianca Guimaraes, Partner and ECD, Mischief. Together they embark on a deep dive as they share their passion for advertising and how their diverse backgrounds led them to achieve immense success in the city they love known as the mecca of advertising. New York Festivals hosted a panel on emerging technologies taking place in the virtual world of the Metaverse. Three members of Future Now’s executive jury who are at the forefront of integrating technology, creativity and business have come together for a meeting of the minds on cutting-edge technology.
The members participated as avatars, meeting at Horizon World within Meta’s Creative Shop’s “A Shop in the Woods”, using the Meta’s Quest 2 headset for an initial in-depth fireside chat.
Panelists include Karen Maurice-O’Leary, Head of Emerging Products and Platforms, Creative Shop, Meta and Walter Geer, Director of Experience Design, VMLY&R, who explored emerging technologies with the moderator and chair of the executive jury NYF Future Now, David Justus, Executive Director of Technology and Business Development for AKQA.
The technology-focused discussion in this virtual reality world explored emerging technologies, what the metaverse means for the future of advertising, the new class of cultural producers, and the impact of creator culture on business and the brand. The Future Now Executive Jury will judge Future Now’s ‘New for 2022’ categories launched to highlight creative work that uses technology to provide an innovative approach that leads to a more engaged consumer experience.
The New York Festivals Advertising Awards receive nominations from more than 60 countries and are judged by more than 400 members of the NYF Executive Jury and Grand Jury, who vote collectively to select the winning entry for the trophy of the year.
